We provided a submission to the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment's (MBIE) consultation on the exposure draft of the Customer and Product Data Bill on 24 July 2023.
In this submission we provided feedback to relevant questions highlighting the following:
- The importance of broad consultation within designated sectors to ensure all participants have the opportunity to provide their feedback and insights.
- High levels of security may create barriers to entry for accredited requestors.
- If a class of accreditation for intermediaries is introduced, there should be consultation with DSPs, accountants and other participants who would fall into this classification.
- The government should consult with DSPs to ensure everyday payroll, tax and accounting processes and future use cases are design for in the legislation and accompanying regulations.
