About the Speakers                            

Ian Colhoun - Director - ATO 

Ian leads the design and product management team for Single Touch Payroll. He is responsible for providing design assurance around the use of STP data, both by the ATO and other agencies, and is managing STP reporting in the ATO.  Ian has over 35 years of experience working in different roles within the ATO and has a master's in taxation from UNSW.

He recently completed the design and implementation of JobKeeper and JobMaker schemes supporting employees and employers as part of the Governments response to COVID-19.  Ian has extensive experience in supporting business design and improvement having worked with employers and superannuation funds in the implementation of Superstream, a program designed to improve the efficiency of the Superannuation, supporting the introduction of GST and a range of business improvement activities across our client engagement areas. 

Travis Wright - Director - Superannuation & Employment Obligations - ATO

Travis has had several leadership roles across the organisation, including client engagement, small business experience, risk & strategy, economic stimulus, and various roles with Single Touch Payroll.

As Digital Solution Providers Assurances and Support lead for STP, Travis leads a team that tests product conformance for STP Phase 2, including production data assurances. He has previously supported the ATO’s use of STP data, including employer help and support.

Simone Dixon - Vice President, DSPANZ and Compliance Manager of Product, ELMO Software.

Simone is an established and driven Payroll Professional, with over 35 years’ experience in Finance, Payroll & HR within the Retail, Hospitality, Building, Mining, Recruitment, Labour Hire, Not for Profit and Software industries.

Simone has undertaken a diverse range of roles within her working life journey, from Sales Assistant, Bar Attendant and Financial Controller to her current role as Compliance Manager of Product at ELMO. This diversity of experience has provided her with a unique level of knowledge and clarity in the intricacy of business collaboration.

Her founding years were spent growing up in Canberra.  Managing the family business, gave her a taste of the complexity of interpreting legislation. It became her passion to decipher the legal jargon and translate it into a language that was able to be understood by all.

Simone has always been proactive in her approach to grow her knowledge and is eager to share the results of her learnings, whether it be in an open forum event or internally with her peers. As Vice President of the DSPANZ board she encourages this knowledge share amongst DSPANZ members and acts as an industry voice for DSPANZ members.
