Greetings and Kia ora! Tēnā koutou kotahi, tēnā koutou katoa
He Tāngata, He Tāngata, He Tāngata. This Māori proverb - It’s the people. It’s the people. It’s the people - encapsulates the heart of DSPANZ, recognising the exceptional staff, directors, and volunteers driving our impact. Our members are the heart of our organisation, and we're privileged to advocate on your behalf.
From the DSPANZ Board and staff, heartfelt gratitude extends to our members, government partners, and stakeholders. Your unwavering support has been the driving force behind our success.
Reflecting on 2023, a dynamic year marked by significant changes for DSPs across the Tasman, here's a snapshot of DSPANZ's achievements:
Navigating the Changing Terrain: Addressing crucial industry challenges, such as cybersecurity concerns triggered by high-profile attacks. In response, DSPANZ delved into data minimisation and retention, hosting focus groups to produce best practice guidance for DSPs.
Impactful Partnerships: Officially announcing a strategic partnership with Australian Payments Plus (AP+), aiming to raise awareness and educate on emerging payment methods.
Government Engagement and Advocacy: Continuing active involvement with government entities, including co-chairing the ATO DSP Strategic Working Group. Additionally, DSPANZ provided valuable input on regulatory changes, submitting 11 responses to government consultations on issues such as, privacy, security, and industrial relations.
Committee Initiatives: Four industry committees, played a pivotal role in actively contributing to discussions on paid family and domestic violence leave, workplace relations reforms, and the development of best practice guides for members.
New Zealand Endeavors: DSPANZ strengthened its presence in Aotearoa New Zealand, co-chairing the Digital Advisory Group (DAG) and the A-NZ Peppol All Stakeholders Working Group.
As we approach our 10th year, we eagerly anticipate the opportunities and challenges that 2024 will bring. DSPANZ remains committed to driving positive change, fostering collaboration, and advocating for the interests of DSPs.
We thank you for being an integral part of DSPANZ's journey - here's to another year of growth, resilience, and shared success!
Matthew Prouse,
President.
