Strategy and Planning Day Outcomes 2023

The majority of DSPANZ Directors and staff met at our offices in Adelaide for our annual Strategic Planning Day on 7 February 2023.

Throughout the day, we acknowledged the growth of the association over the past five years and contemplated what the next five years may hold for the business software industry and therefore how DSPANZ evolves and meets the needs of our members.

The new Application Programming Interface (API) for the Fair Work Commission’s Modern awards pay database is being released in the week of 20 March 2023. DSPs interested in using the API from March 2023 can register their interest by sending the Commission a letter of intent.

Update from Inland Revenue on Impacts from recent weather events

Paid Family and Domestic Violence Leave Recent Changes

Over the past few weeks updated information has been released about Paid Family and Domestic Violence Leave (PFDVL). Here’s a quick summary:
  • Regulations registered on 3 February updating information on how amounts paid for PFDVL are recorded on a payslip
  • Information published on the employer guide and STP quick reference guide pages on ATO’s website
  • Updated version of the Disaggregation of Gross position paper published 14 February

Independent review of MBR announced

The Treasury has announced an independent review of the Modernising Business Register program. The review will provide a comprehensive understanding of the current state of the program as well as recommendations on how to best position the program to achieve its intended objectives.

Updated Guide to Developing a CDR Policy

The Office of the Australian Information Commissioner has updated its Guide to developing a CDR Policy to reflect amendments to the Competition and Consumer (Consumer Data Right) Rules 2020 and the findings of its second privacy assessment. This update includes more detail about CDR policy requirements and new information on the expansion of CDR into the energy sector.
