Robert Ravanello - Digital Transformation Office
Robert leads the design activity in the interim Digital Transformation Office (iDTO) that is shaping the transformation of Australian
eGovernment and Service Delivery. He is responsible for working across government to drive innovation and make it easier for individuals and
businesses to access government services.
In Robert’s previous role as Deputy Commissioner for Service Delivery in the ATO he is responsible for processing, contact centre services
and debt management. Robert has also held senior positions such as Chief Finance Officer and First Assistant Commissioner in Business
Solutions and Change Program. Robert is applying over 20 years experience in ICT and major change reforms to the iDTO and the government’s
Digital Transformation Agenda.
John McAlister, Australian Taxation Office
John McAlister is recognised as a leader and strategic thinker. In both the public and private sectors John has lead strategy, design and
the implementation of change, particularly from ‘old’ to ‘new’ technology.
John is responsible for raising awareness and driving use of the ‘whole-of-government’ services the Australian Business Register, AUSkey and
SBR within government and business.
With a focus on enhancing business efficiency and productivity in the Australian economy, John’s team works to influence business’ behavior; moving them from traditional ‘paper-based’ reporting to interacting with government on a digital platform.
John is passionate about enabling Australian businesses realise the benefits of the Digital Economy so they can enjoy better business outcomes, growth prospects, more diversified sources of revenue and a larger customer base.
Adrian Bugg, Australian Bureau of Statistics
Adrian is currently Program Manager of Acquire@ABS, to transform ABS data acquisition. He was previously the branch head for the Data Acquisition and Collection Branch of ABS.
Adrian has extensive experience in the Australian Government with a range of departments and agencies. His expertise includes data, information and IT systems, program management, operations and change management, and he has a Masters of Information Technology, Bachelor of Science (REM) and a Diploma of Project Management.
Matthew Addison, Institute of Certified Bookkeepers
Matthew Addison is the Executive Director of the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers Ltd (ICB).
He has been instrumental in representing the bookkeeping profession during the consultation process on the tax agent services legislation, and is a member of the Australian Treasury Standard Business Reporting Advisory Forum.
He is a member of the ATO BAS Agents Advisory Group and the Bookkeeper Industry Group. He is a registered tax agent as Managing Director and principal of Addisons Productivity Solutions, a consulting, bookkeeping, accounting software (MYOB Certified Consultant) support business.
He takes an active role in professional (agents, bookkeepers and consultants) education, seminars and training.
Lesley Slevin, Australian Taxation Office
Lesley has been in the ATO since 1984 and is based in the Newcastle site. She has experienced many roles in a number of business areas
including Enquiries, Debt, GST, and Tax Practitioner and Lodgment Strategy (TPALS), mainly in leadership positions.
Currently undertaking the role of Assistant Commissioner, Software Developer Partnership and Operational Model Review in Enterprise
Solutions and Technology (EST), Lesley also holds a Bachelor of Business and Masters in Public Administration. She is passionate about
innovation, continuous improvement and empowering people and she lives by the motto “Just do it!"
