Hi Community Member,

We have a few initiatives happening at ABSIA right now that we would like to share with all our members. Find more information about these initiatives below.

Sign up to ABSIA SIG communications

While ABSIA mainly uses the Forum to operate all of our Special Interest Groups (SIGs), we have now set up e-news subscriptions for each of our SIGs. These subscriptions will aim to keep members up to date about their areas of interest including details about any organised meetings, webinars and events from ABSIA and the industry.

To subscribe to any of the SIG communication lists, simply indicate which ones you are interested in using the survey below.

ABSIA's Current SIGs:

  • Payroll
  • PLS & Tax
  • E-invoicing
  • Payments
  • Security

All ABSIA Members on the Forum are able to access the PLS & Tax, E-invoicing, Payments and Security SIGs. To participate in the Payroll SIG and related sub-categories, reply to this email and ABSIA will give you access.

E-invoicing Working Group

ABSIA has been hosting fortnightly e-invoicing meetings with service providers, ERPs and accounting software providers to discuss interoperability and other issues surrounding e-invoicing in Australia and New Zealand. If you are interested in joining this group or learning more about the work of this group, please email us

Do you handle government relations for your business?

ABSIA has established a government relations sub-committee and we are looking to get members involved. If there is a specific person handling government relations for your business, please contact us so we can keep you up to date with our work and possibly get you involved.

Security SIG Webinar - Cyber Resilience

ABSIA and Unisys are presenting a joint webinar on Cyber Resilience on Tuesday 28 July at 11am (AEST). ABSIA's Ian Gibson will be hosting the Industry Director of Cyber Security (Australia and New Zealand) at Unisys, Gergana Winzer, to discuss cyber threats, how to spot a cyber attack along with mitigation strategies and what it means to be cyber resilient in this new normal. Towards the end of the webinar, there will be the opportunity to ask Gergana questions. Click here for more information.

COSBOA Survey - The Road to Recovery: Business and Industry's
education and training needs post COVID-19

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a devastating impact on employment, required workplace skills and the nature of jobs many Australian employees and workers.

COSBOA are seeking views to help establish which and how new skills should be provided, funded and acquired more quickly to ensure all Australians can participate and benefit from Australia's successful business recovery during and after the COVID-19 pandemic. COSBOA's research team would like to find out what has changed for working Australians regarding:

  • The technical and generic skills you or your team members need, or need more of, since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic; and
  • The optimal ways to address these skills needs in the next 12 months, including innovative approaches and possible government support packages.

If you are working in a large or small organisation, a small/micro business owner, sole trader, contractor, consultant or other, COSBOA would like to hear from you. The survey is being conducted independently by Deakin University and overseen by the COSBOA/ACoP "COVID-19 Business Recovery Council" which directly advises the Prime Minister's National COVID-19 Coordination Commission. The survey will take approximately 10 minutes to complete.

Until next time,
The Team at ABSIA.
