What are some interesting facts about you?
My kids gave me a Dad joke book for my birthday a few years back for a
giggle I posted a Payroll Friday Funny on LinkedIn. It got a great reaction and I have continued to post each week.
Who do you work for and what is your role?
I work for ReadyTech in their Workforce Solutions Division as Compliance &
Product Manager. Readytech also develops software for Higher Education, Local Government and Courts.
How did you get involved with DSPANZ?
While at a former employer, I became aware of DSPANZ back when it was called
ABSIA via forums and webinars. When I joined ReadyTech I became the main contact and then started to attend Industry meetings and joined
working groups engaging with the ATO.
What keeps you busy outside of your work life and DSPANZ?
My kids sport keeps me busy out side of work. They are nearly all grown up and I now get to simply go watch. If I get any other time free, I
like to get out on my push bike (Melbourne weather permitting).
What would you love to see happen with technology in the next 50 years?
Ideally technology should help fix social problems such as providing access to information and learning to help drive equality, find
solutions to environmental problems such as global warming, while also driving overall prosperity.
Which is best - the book or the movie?
Star Wars (all of them) - The movies are great to watch but additionally how
they drove the movie industry into the digital age.
What has been the most rewarding part of your career so far?
I have been in the software industry for 20 years but the
most rewarding part was moving into a product management role. The ability to impact larger numbers of users is extremely rewarding.
If you had your own talk show, who would you invite as your first guest?
George Lucas - I would love to understand
where his inspiration came from to innovate the movie industry.
And finally, what’s the weirdest food you’ve ever eaten?
I am a very plain eater.
