What are some interesting facts about you?
I've been running IT businesses for over 40 years and seen a lot of technology changes and attitudes to women in our industry. All
positive changes so far - I'm enjoying the ride.
Who do you work for and what do you do in that role?
I'm
a Director of Ozedi Holdings Pty Ltd, involved in product design, client relationships, sales and marketing.
How did you get involved with DSPANZ?
My
business partner David Field founded ABSIA which is now DSPANZ. We have always been supporters of a business software industry association.
What keeps you busy outside of your day job and DSPANZ?
Rotary, reading, tennis, cooking and friends.
What would you love to see happen with technology in the next 50 years?
I'd like to see technology complementing
our lives, rather than dominating it - especially social interactions. I hope we keep control on AI - sometimes we can be too smart for our
own good.
Which is best - the book or the movie?
The book because it allows your imagination to run wild - it's active
rather than the passive intake of another person's interpretation.
What has been the most rewarding part of your career so far?
Different
stages in my career have resulted in different successes and personal achievements. It's an ongoing journey - the best is always ahead.
If you had your own talk show, who would you invite as your first guest?
If I could invite someone no longer with us,
I'd invite Leonardo da Vinci for obvious reasons - what a genius ! If it has to be someone alive today, I'd invite Ukraine's
president Zelensky - outstanding leadership from a person with such an unusual background - true courage.
And finally, what’s the weirdest food you’ve ever eaten?
Turtle - in Mexico 30 years ago. I wouldn't eat it today
for conservation reasons. It tasted like chicken.
